What crimes did Ned Kelly commit?
Ned Kelly was a famous bushranger. He did many good and bad things for Australia. Ned formed a group called 'The Kelly Gang'. Here is a timeline of Ned Kelly's Crimes:
December, 1866
The Kelly Gang were often in trouble with police over horse and cattle theft.
1869
Ned was 14 and arrested for the assault of a Chinese pig farmer.
1870
Ned Kelly wrote an indecent letter.
1870
Kelly was gaoled for three years because he stole a horse.
1870
Drunk driving disorderly.
1878
Ned Kelly shot constable Alexander Fitzpatrick.
1879
The Kelly gang created there famous metal plate amour.
June, 28, 1880
A shooting happened between the police and the Kelly gang. He was left injured.
November, 11, 1880
Ned Kelly was hanged at “THE OLD MELBOURNE GAOL”. Newspapers report his last words to be “SUCH IS LIFE”.

Ned Kelly is a well known Australian because he is Australia's greatest bushranger. Ned Kelly became famous because he has committed many robberies and murders. As a result the people of Glenrowan had found out and had spread the news all over Australia and he became a famous bushranger.

How did Ned Kelly change the laws in Australia?
1. The police introduced the felon's apprehension act that out lawed the Kelly gang and invited anyone to kill them. There was no need to arrest them or for there to be a trial. This law was introduced specifically to kill Ned Kelly as he was so bad.
2. The police introduced an award of 8,000 pounds for their capture.
